My accounts no longer active?
Firstly i know only so much help can found on this forum and it's not really the best place for technical problems. But hopefully there's someone out there who has had a similar problem and can advise me on how to fix it wether it's reinstalling or contacting the support team.
Anyway... I recently reformatted my pc due to few things blowing up on me. I installed Guild Wars again, but instead of using the discs i downloaded the client from the website. After i downloaded it all and did the update i got to the log in screen. Logged in as normal, and it logged me in... But instead of displaying my 8 character slots with my characters, it displayed 4 empty slots with the following message. What does this mean? |

did you add the access keys to the newly downloaded client?
if you did, then no clue. |

Or is this because i've downloaded the client from the website and not used the discs? But even then i thought it was all the same? Last edited by Nestaron; Apr 20, 2007 at 11:37 PM // 23:37.. |

I think it might be because you downloaded a new client. The new client on your comp doesn't know how you got it. Meaning from discs or off the web and if you're authorized to use it. I'd try and dig out the discs and add the access keys to see if that works.
I don't think it's "all the same" anyway. I believe the web client is updated regularly and your discs are obviously not. Last edited by heroajax1; Apr 20, 2007 at 11:46 PM // 23:46.. |

I installed last time off of the download and it worked fine. the key is not attached to the client it is attached to the login if you logged in and got that then I would thing that you got at least a temporarly banned I would check your email for a letter or write to A-net and ask them

hmmm that was the first thought that went through my head, but i haven't done anything to be banned so i don't see why i would be? Guess a message to the support team might not go a miss.
edit// just checked my email, nothing from the GW Team. |

I'm trying to remember when I build my new comp. If I'm not wrong here, I think when I re-installed GW off my discs, I needed to add the access keys. I just honestly can't remember though. If that doesn't work, then check your e-mail for a-net e-mail or call their tech support and see what they tell you.

This may sound stupid, but are you sure you typed your email address in correctly? or if you have a couple different email address, did you type in the correct one tied to the account?
just my 2 cents |

Right, apparently GW support is down right now. Also, access keys are tied to your login info, not your computer or installation of Guild Wars. Beyond that, I have no clue.

You could always try calling in. Though I'm not sure if they just give the number out to everyone on the site, but they did give it to me.

It shouldn't matter what computer you're playing on. The codes are on the gw servers. When I got a new computer a year or so ago, all I did was download and install, sign in and play. So, if I had to guess, I'd guess that you've been banned. Doesn't matter if you did anything wrong, all it takes is for anet to think you did something wrong. It wouldn't be the first time that someone got wrongly banned.

^If he had been banned, there would have been a message saying that when he logged in. The message he got is the message you get when your trial key's up. But since he said he had all three campaigns it would have to be a bug.

I know this was stated earlier in this thread, but make sure you have the exact email. I got that same message before due to email address being entered wrong..
I only have 1 account, but 2 of my emails are very similar. same prefix, diffrent suffix. (one ending with @hotmail.com and one with @yahoo.com). I technically have "2" accounts, but thats because i entered the Factions event. so for me... i have [email protected] (My main account, only Prophecies enabled.) [email protected] (My Second "temporary" account, nothing enabled, and only has my factions preview weekend toons. I get the same exact error + see 2 characters i made during the event.). |
